Retailers far more exposed to vagaries of the weather than they once were

Greenlight has on several occasions talked about the impact of the weather on online sales and the need for online vendors’ SEO and PPC campaigns to flexibly accommodate and easily adapt to any sudden turn of tide. So it’s interesting to see retail research agency and consulting firm, Conlumino, in its analogy of the BRC’s latest retail sales results, note just how much of a role the weather – aside from the economy, has shaped them, when compared to the same time last year.

66% upsurge in online searches for cruises

The volume of UK online searches for cruise holidays in August rose a staggering 66% on May levels, reveals analysis of the latest search data from Greenlight. Its latest report covering the sector also found queries for cruise excursions on the UK’s river Thames saw the biggest increase compared to the Caribbean, Mediterranean and the Nile.
